-Not Your Forever-

I read this quote on Pinterest this morning that said; “Your right now is not your forever.” I think those words in that silly little Pinterest quote was God trying to tell me that what I’m going through right now will get better. While it stings sometimes, God puts certain things in my life only for a season. God put my current home church to be a light to lead me out of my cave and come out stronger on the other side.

I learned from my old church to never get too comfortable, and never be sad to leave things behind when God is calling you out. Once I learned that I thought I’d never make that mistake again but here I was telling my mom that I didn’t want to leave because my friends are there. I fell into the same cave I was before. I was hurt that I had to miss out on so many opportunities at this church when in reality God never had those opportunities in mind for me. I got so involved so quickly at this church that it felt as if I was there for years and I was only there 8 months. I loved where I was serving and how much I was serving but it was for myself and not because God gave it to me.

I woke up this morning a little sad until God whispered: “This is my will.” I always repeated it but I never truly felt at peace.  After years of putting matters into my own hands, I’ve come to a place where I can say, “Whatever God’s will, is my will.” God has even better things for me and a new season to explore. One verse that spoke to me during this is, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). While life changes and things come at me I know God is my only constant that will never change. God gave me so many blessings here to brighten my darkness and now it’s time to serve somewhere else, and I’ve never felt more excited to see what God has in store for me. – A
